A LETTER TO EDITOR
Dear sir,
For almost two months, we the people of a village at Gunung Kidul have had no water. Our well was drying up.
I as a member of the village, have written twice to the Head of the District and the Regent. They promised to help us dig
another well and send the drilling equipment. But they didn’t come. Our well has now dried up. We have written to the
Head again, but we have received no reply.
There are 350 people in my village who are disappointed with the promise given to us. We are poor. We want to dig
another well, but we cannot afford to hire the drilling equipment.
Yours faithfully,
